Thoughts and observations on the Courageous film and Bible Study…

9 Oct

I’ve been looking over the study collateral in support of the “Courageous” film and I am convinced that we will have a revealing and uplifting experience in our studies-to-come. The family is under attack from so many different directions. Men as servant leaders have not been spared in that attack; perhaps we are even the focus of the attack.

Jesus said: “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can rob his house…” Mt12:23(NIV). We are the strong men of our houses. Let’s not get tied up and lose our most prized possessions – our families.

We must fight back against the powers that would neutralize our influence. We must be the men that God has endowed us to be. We must fight for our families and protect those who depend on us.

High sounding words…. How can we fight when it seems sometimes that whole world is against us? How can we be strong, but temper our strength with love, kindness and compassion? Where can we find the tools that we need to win this battle?

We have each other! We have the power of Christ! And we have the Courageous Living Bible Study. Sounds like a good start to me!

What a great reminder Denny. Encouraging but definitely challenging. I agree, I am looking forward to the study!
